I started loving hip-hop at an early age. I became a fan at 5 years old. I used to breakdance, and I would jump in any cypher or rap battler around my city through high school. I've always loved music, film, and the arts. I was a promotions and marketing intern for E-93 Jamz in 1999. I got into Davidson College on the Romere Bearden Scholarship for Fine Arts. In 2000, as a Freshman at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, I worked for several promotions and marketing companies in the Triangle area of North Carolina. I started my own promotions, marketing, and event company, Movement Productions LLC d/b/a Movement Productions as a Sophomore. I started a street team, we threw parties, I hired some of my friends and classmates, did a calendar series, and started a website to market, advertise, and promote my company and our clients' events. During that time, I was the Def Jam college rep for the Triangle and Triad regions of North Carolina. I had some legal issues during college with clients failing to pay and with a collaborator around rights distribution. I wished I had someone to help me resolve the issues because I knew I was right in both situations. After graduation, I decided to attend law school and put myself in a position to empower and help others in the entertainment industry. I came back to the Carolinas, attended Charlotte School of Law, and founded my law firm in 2009.
