XEM, one of the important representatives of Kurdish modern music and rap music, was born in Batman. He started producing his first songs in 2008, and continued to take part in duet projects and perform at various music festivals until 2014. After a 5-year break, he started his professional music career in 2019 and released his first EP album consisting of 3 songs. XEM, who attracted attention after the album, released the single "Bikene" with Jehrmar at the beginning of 2021. He released his latest album consisting of 10 songs, which he started working on during the Covid/Quarantine period and produced as an independent artist, to his listeners at the beginning of 2022. Many songs in the album were selected for many editorial playlists on music platforms such as Apple Music, Spotify and Deezer, and the album was introduced in the Banner section of the Apple Music platform. XEM, which aims to bring a new breath to Kurdish music, aims to reflect the rich cultural heritage of the Kurds, challenge social norms, and shed light on taboo issues and frequently overlooked or stigmatized topics. Blending the deep-rooted rhythms and melodies of Kurdish folk music with RAP, Contemporary R&B, Pop, House, Rock and Reggae, XEM manages to go beyond certain patterns and boundaries in terms of musical style and lyrics. XEM, who has signed many concert organizations, especially in Istanbul, has performed on joint stages in many cities with the rock music group Bajar. Lastly, he took the stage at the Newroz event in Batman, which was attended by approximately 100 thousand people.
